From Bali Airport (DPS) the beaches and resorts range from a short drive to well over an hour: Kuta and Jimbaran are 10–15 minutes, Nusa Dua about 30, and Ubud around 1.5 hours. A private transfer or the official airport taxi is the usual way there.
Many visitors to Bali International Airport (DPS) are not heading for the city at all, but for the resort and beach areas: Kuta, Legian and Tuban right by the airport, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua on the southern peninsula, Seminyak and Canggu up the west coast, clifftop Uluwatu to the south, and inland Ubud among the rice terraces. Some sit only a short drive from the terminals, while others are well over an hour away, and Bali's traffic means you should judge every trip by time, not distance.

Getting to your resort

- Rental car or scooter: good if you plan to explore, remembering Bali drives on the left and a permit is required; desks serve the airport.
- Hotel shuttle: some resorts include or arrange a pick-up, check when you book.
